Jute tape is 100% decomposable in the soil and does not harm the environment, as it is made from natural jute fibre.

Therefore, like other jute fibre products (e.g. jute fibre or jute rope), jute tape may have a specific (technical) oil smell. Depending on the specific batch of product/manufacturer, this smell may be more or less pronounced.
