Jute rope is 100% biodegradable and does not harm the environment because it is made of natural jute fiber (the rope is made of the same material as jute fabric).
* Traditionally, raw (undyed, unbleached) jute rope contains a small amount of oil - this is due to the technological feature of production. Therefore, like other products made of jute fibers (e.g. jute string or jute fabric), jute rope may have a specific (technical) oil smell. Depending on the specific batch of goods/manufacturer, this smell may be more or less pronounced.
According to customer reviews, the scent level may be perceived differently, depending on the individual sensitivity of a given person.
The odor usually disappears over time.
It is also worth adding that because the rope is made of natural fiber, it has a significantly limited lifespan outdoors when it is directly exposed to the sun and precipitation. The service life in rooms with normal temperature and humidity is almost unlimited.
